About us

Kinetic Convergence Dance Collective (KCD) was founded in August of 2023 by cofounders Karter Bernhardt, Brooklyn Draper, and Hannah Dusek. The idea behind KCD came from two recent college graduates and their professor, who had a vision for more dance opportunities in Missoula. After taking the entire summer of 2023 to figure out what this collective would look like, KCD was announced to the community and finally brought to life.

KCD is committed to making dance more accessible in Missoula through community engagement, creating inclusive and welcoming spaces, and bringing unconventional dance, art, and movement to new spaces. KCD is driven to showcase to audiences that contemporary dance and movement can be many things. It is also of utmost importance to KCD that all artists and creators they partner with are treated and compensated appropriately and fairly.

KCD’s past productions include Everyday Games (2024), Shifted Perspectives (2024), Where did they all go? (2024), and MUSE (2025). They have also collaborated with local organizations such as Arts Missoula, Montana Repertory Theatre, and the Westside Theater on productions including Missoula on Main (2024)BINGO!: A Night of Theatre, Dance, and Prizes (2024), and Okay…GO! (2023, 2024, 2025).

KCD is currently housed as the Dance Company In-Residence within the University of Montana’s School of Theatre and Dance. They are incredibly excited at this new partnership and feel grateful for the warm and gracious support they have received from the Missoula community in their first years as a collective!
